Life safety performance.

Setting a new level.

Teckentrup has left its mark in on the development of structural fire protection in Germany for decades. Teckentrup was the first company to introduce a fire rated sliding door with approval to DIN4102 fire test standard. It seeks, at all times, to provide best practice choices.

Teckentrup’s approach is best exemplified by its insulated fire doors and the opportunity they provide for architects to specify a commercially competitive, integrity and insulation performance level.

Teckentrup offers a complete design, manufacture and installation solution.

The Teckentrup fire door range includes fire doors CE marked for external use with fire and smoke resistance characteristics (compulsory since Nov 1st 2019) under the harmonised standard BS EN 14351-1: 2006 + A2 2016 and BS EN 16034: 2014.

Teckentrup steel fire doors and doorsets have been tested to:
  • EN1634-1 achieving 120 minutes fire integrity and 60 minutes fire insulation
  • BS EN 1634-3 Smoke protection Sa / S200
  • DIN EN 20140 and evaluated in accordance with DIN EN ISO717 Part 1 achieving from Rw 37dB to RW41dB
  • European Security Standard EN1627 achieving RC2, RC3 & RC4 ratings
  • LPS 1175 Issue 7 Security Standard achieving SR1, SR2 & SR3 ratings
  • LPS 1175 Issue 8 Security Standard achieving A1 (SR1), B3 (SR2), C5 (SR3), D5 and D10 (SR4) ratings
  • LPS 2081 Stealth A & B ratings
  • BS EN 1522 Bullet proof rating FB4
  • BS EN 179 & BS EN 1125 Panic functions
  • European Standards EN1628 & 1629 for static and dynamic loading
  • BS EN 12211 pressure 7000Pa max
  • ISO12567-1 achieving a UD value of 1.1 W/m2/K°
  • EN12207 for air permeability achieving Class 2/4* for a single and Class 1/3* for a double leaf door * Single point/Multi-point locking
  • EN12208 for water tightness achieving Class 7A for a single and Class 6A for a double leaf door
  • EN12210 for wind resistance achieving Class 3/5 for a single and Class 1/3 for a double leaf door
  • A 62mm insulated door set, fitted with heavy duty ‘KO’ hinges has been tested to EN1191 for repeated opening and closing to C5 level – 200,000 cycles
  • CE marked for external use with fire and smoke resistance characteristics under the harmonised standard BS EN 14351-1: 2006 + A2 2016 and BS EN 16034: 2014.

Insulation and integrity.

The UK & Ireland are the only major European markets where it is NOT mandatory to specify steel personnel doors with both insulation and integrity fire ratings...

Why does this matter? In a fire situation an un-insulated, hollow metal door will contain a fire but offer little resistance to the passage of thermally radiated heat.

Levels of up to 33.5 kW/M2 after 30 minutes at 0.5M from the unexposed surface are typically recorded on test, risking harm to people queuing in high traffic, escape corridors. These levels also risk becoming an ignition source for close proximity flammable materials.

The Teckentrup T60-FSA Fire Resistant steel door is tested to EN1634-1, providing up to 120 minutes integrity and up to 60 minutes insulation, increasing the safety of any people in proximity to the door.

Which door would you rather pass by in a corridor if you were escaping a fire?

Other manufacturers’ fire tests look like this...

Surface Temperature: 700ºC

Teckentrup fire tests look like this...

Surface Temperature: 180ºC (Max)

We live in your world...

Delivering a project from conception to handover is an undertaking that requires many elements to work together...

Teckentrup understands the language of complex projects; how to design a solution for the building not just a door, but how to provide drawings in the right way, how to deliver the door, how to manage project timeframe shifts, how to work seamlessly within the contract process and provide product of certified and documented capability.

Frames & Hardware

Clever framing solutions and finishing touches

As a project manager, the success of a major initiative often depends on a small detail.

Teckentrup's frame solutions allow for installation in all site scenarios including variable reveal depths and flush finish with wall renders. The four main types are:

  • Block frames with captive seals.
  • Corner frames with captive seals, concealed fixings with adjustable screws and only one fastening point.
  • Corner Counter frames with captive seals and concealed fixing of the counter frame with special fold anchors.
  • Closed frames with captive seals.

Teckentrup can advise on the right solution and their suitability for applications such as fire, acoustics, etc.

The Hardware, accessories, vision panels, louvres, etc., are all selected to suit application, life cycle value requirements and other criteria, against which Teckentrup can provide certification. Advice on selection and integration with access and building systems such as fire and security is also part of our solution based approach.
